Work Crew Member:

Some days will be longer then others and we expect a positive attitude and desire to complete tasks and become part of our team. Working on our farm requires the physical capability to contribute daily in a rigorous, fast-paced agricultural setting. You must have a current drivers license and vehicle. You must be on time and be able to complete a task. You must be able to work and lead in a team atmosphere as well as independently. You must show a desire of all farm work including customer service, packing orders, delivering orders, organization, heavy equipment operation and physically working in 100 degree temperatures. You must be able to rock a farmer tan! We would like some one who works hard and is proud to grow quality produce for the best restaurants and community of Mesa County while still posesing a sense of humor.
**Smoking is not permitted. Tobacco carries viruses and diseases that transmit to crops. Its challenging enough to grow organically and keep the plants healthy. Since we are an Organic farm we ask for no tobacco use on our farm.
50% of our work is harvesting and the other 50% is production as well as getting the product to market. You must contain the ability to be polite and social and talk with customers as well as lead volunteers and work trade members. You must follow and pay attention to our current farm systems and contribute to improving farm systems. Having a basic knowledge of biological plant health and soil health is a must as well as a desire to grow organically. Efficiency is important and showing the ability to multi task, use hand tools properly as well as efficient harvesting and being able to field sort produce will be expected.

Work Trade Member:
Work Trade members are special members of our farm. The work trade postion is a 5 hour work commitment on the farm one day a week for 25 weeks. This is a opportunity for you to work down the cost of your CSA share. These hours will be tracked and if the total hourly commitment is not fulfilled buy the end we will add your work hours to your share price and work out the difference. The work trade position will start mid-May. we expect you at the farm and ready @ 8am and to participate until 1pm with a 30 minute lunch break. Bring your lunch!! We also make a family style salad but we work hard and you will need food.
Along with the opportunity of participating in local agriculture and community involvment. We look for people who are self starting and show an interest in participating in all farm and CSA duties. If you have an interest in farm work as well as customer service, helping organize CSA distributions, special events, guide volunteers and become a working member of our farm we will be hiring a few different work trade positions for the 2017 season. Work Trade Members gain the rewarding experience of helping produce beautiful organic vegetables while building a relationship with the land.

Volunteers are essential at Field To Fork CSA. Their energy, spirit and willingness to work bring a refreshing quality to the farm. Working with our farm work trade members and employees helps volunteers gain the rewarding experience of helping produce beautiful organic vegetables while building a relationship with the land.
We have set volunteer hours each week that are seasonally based. We need 48 hours notice to you wanting to volunteer to ensure we have volunteer spots available. Please wear closed toe shoes pants and bring a long sleaved shirt. Volunteers are welcome on Tuesday, Friday and Saturdays from 9am - 1pm

We work sun up to sun down. A typical weekly schedule follows:
Monday field work including weeding, seeding and transplanting, begin weekly harvest for CSA and restaurants. 7am -3pm
Tuesday Cont. harvest for restaurants and CSA . Evening cultivation and pest managment solutions. 7am - 6pm
Wednesday planting weeding and harvesting for all accounts and CSA 7am -9pm
Thursday Continue weekly harvest for weekend CSA distribution and farm work, load truck and deliver produce to restaurants. Prepare all packages for pickup deliveries.
Friday Field work including weeding and transplanting, harvest for CSA and on farm CSA distribution. pick up starts at 4-dark.
Saturday Set up farm CSA distribution 10-1am, set up farm stand for general public 2-dusk.
Sunday rest and get ready for monday set up farm stand and sell produce at farm 3526 front street 10-dusk
To give you an idea of what type of work we will be doing:
Field work: includes seeding, transplanting, weeding, thinning sprouts, pest control, trellising and harvesting.
Greenhouse: seeding, weeding, transplanting, watering, and pest control.
Wash Station: washing, sorting, packing, bunching, bagging, post harvest labeling all crops
Tractor work: bed preparation, pest control, crop fertility management and mowing.
Distribution: delivering restaurant orders, distributing CSA, farm stand and wholesale.
