Happy New Year Farm Update
We are very excited for the upcoming season and we hope you are able to join us for another year of growth on our farm. We are planning to work hard for our CSA members and local restaurants and chefs and what is great is how comfortable we feel with where our relationships are with the CSA and chefs. The CSA is starting to become so much fun for us and it is becoming much easier then it used to feel. We love having the direct relationship with our customers and I could not imagine operating our farm any other way.
What is fun and exciting for us is the options we are offering in 2017! We have decided to move to a "free choice" CSA model. Which means you choose whats in your basket. We will offer 3 share sizes with flexible payment options and pickup options. Pickups are open house style. You can come anytime during your pickup hours. As your farmers, we harvest your food all day, then we set it out all pretty in a buffet style setting, like your own personal farmers market. You grab an empty basket and fill it up with whatever you want and with what is in season. If you want more tomatoes, and no turnips – that’s all you. You choose what you put in your basket. Once your basket is full, you are done! We do it all over again the following week.
In 2017 we are also offering a 10 week punch pass. Come at your convience! Check out our options below:
We offer 3 share sizes during our main summer garden share season (18 weeks):
- Itty Bitty (1 person) $300.00= $18.00 per week value
- The couple (2 people) $425.00= $25.00 per week value
- The Family (2-4 people) $565.00= $33.00 per week value
We also offer a spring (4 weeks) and fall (5 weeks) garden share:
- Spring Garden Share - $120.00= $30.00 per week value
- Fall Garden Share - $150.00= $30.00 per week value
**New for 2017
The Traveler: 10 weeks of CSA shares at your convince we will issue a punch pass valued at $350.00 (expect the size of "the couple" and pick up produce any week between june-november).
Unfortunately in 2016 we lost our Grand Junction distribution space and we knew this issue would continue so we are no longer distributing CSA share off farm. We feel we are accessible and close enough for people to easily access the farm. We also would like to cultivate a deeper relationship with our members and our members cultivate a deeper relationship with the farm. The parking lot we were distributing in was not a good reflection of our farm. We applogize to many of our core members who are disappointed in our decision but for the future of this CSA and our farm we feel running the CSA pickups at the farm is best.
In 2017 we are going to be challenging our selves with growing for the school district of Mesa County and a few small grocers. Opening these markets offers us a balance to generate revenue and diverse the farm income. This will add balance to the farm business to make it possible to continue farming.
Thank you so much for your support! We can't wait to see you this season. The farm stand will be open 3-dusk most weekdays and 10-dusk weekends. If you can't join our CSA come and say hi and grab some fresh food!
